Braves Report

For the second game in a row, a new reliever gave it up for Atlanta.

This time, Chris Martin took the loss, falling to 0-3 by giving up two runs in the bottom of the ninth as Miguel Sano belted a two-run walk-off homer in Minnesota’s 5-3 win.

Mike Soroka went seven, giving up three runs on six hits with three strikeouts and a walk.

New reliever Mark Melancon fanned two in a shutout inning, giving way to Martin.

Ronald Acuna, Freddie Freeman, and Josh Donaldson each had two hits for Atlanta, which took advantage of an error in the game-tying two-run seventh.

Atlanta stranded nine runners, three times as many as Minnesota.
