Brentwood hosting Trinity Christian
A year ago, Brentwood opened the season with a 54-point win over Notre Dame, and then traveled to Dublin and lost the momentum with a 35-28 loss to Trinity Christian.
The War Eagles came close to matching the margin again last week, hammering Notre Dame 50. Now they’ll see if they can reverse things when Trinity Christian visits Sandersville on Thursday (7:30 p.m.) in non-region GISA action.
The loss a year ago was the first of three straight, Brentwood regrouping for an 8-5 season. The Crusaders lost their next two games and ended up 7-5.

Clemson is a 37-point favorite.
Central Georgia will have an impact in the game.
Lyn-J Dixon of Taylor County is listed second at running back. He ran for 547 yards and five scores on 62 carries last year.
Northside grad Tobias Oliver will be on the field in some spot for Georgia Tech, although there’s speculation about what the Jackets will do with their quarterbacks. Everybody may take snaps, everybody may play in another spot.
Peach County’s Quez Jackson is likely to start at linebacker.
Westside’s Stephen Dolphus has been battling injuries and isn’t listed on the above-the-line list.
Washington County’s Djimon Brooks will see serious time on the defensive line.
The start of an odd year to open a coaching era: free pass?
Joe Hamilton: Collins will raise the Jackets’ status … eventually
