Houston County alum Hill on Rimington List

Sophomore Trey Hill isn’t much of a secret anymore.

The Georgia offensive lineman is on the Rimington Trophy Watch List. The award goes to the nation’s top center.

Georgia Tech’s Kenny Cooper is also on the list.

It was started in 2000. No player from a college team in Georgia has won it.

There is also a Rimington Award, which goes to the top center in the non-FBS divisions as well as NAIA.

Former GC pitcher getting major props in majors

Josh Taylor spent one season at Georgia College, in 2014. It clicked.

Six years after going 7-4 with a 5.62 ERA and 57 strikeouts in 83.1 innings, he’s in the major leagues, and cementing his status with each outing.

The 6-5, 225-pound lefty has 28 strikeouts in 21.2 innings with a 3.74 ERA, appearing in 21 games since being called up in late May.

Here’s an update in the Boston Globe.
