Houston County alum Hill on Rimington List
Sophomore Trey Hill isn’t much of a secret anymore.
The Georgia offensive lineman is on the Rimington Trophy Watch List. The award goes to the nation’s top center.
Georgia Tech’s Kenny Cooper is also on the list.
It was started in 2000. No player from a college team in Georgia has won it.
There is also a Rimington Award, which goes to the top center in the non-FBS divisions as well as NAIA.
Former GC pitcher getting major props in majors
Josh Taylor spent one season at Georgia College, in 2014. It clicked.
Six years after going 7-4 with a 5.62 ERA and 57 strikeouts in 83.1 innings, he’s in the major leagues, and cementing his status with each outing.
The 6-5, 225-pound lefty has 28 strikeouts in 21.2 innings with a 3.74 ERA, appearing in 21 games since being called up in late May.

Macon pulls away from Fayetteville
A pitchers duel after four innings turned into a blowout as Macon thumped visiting Fayetteville 13-1.
Macon went from a 2-1 lead to a mercy-rule win with consecutive four-run innings and a three-run frame.
Ryan Kouba fanned eight with two walks and two hits in 5.2 innings while Logan Carter (Middle Georgia State) finished it, striking out three in 1.1 innings.
Macon welcomes Florence on Wednesday and Friday, with a trip to Florence on Thursday for a doubleheader.
