A sizable portion of the college football season in the South comes with mighty warm temperatures. The start of the season is in the summer.

          Adults at Mercer games this fall have a new hydration option.

          The Macon Beer Company Bear Garden will be up and running each home Saturday next to Five Star Stadium, the school announced Wednesday.

          The company is owned by Yash Patel, a Mercer grad.

          “It's a great feeling to be able to work together with my alma mater on a great space like this one,”Z Patel said in the school’s release. “It shows how much we value community involvement and having a good time at all Mercer events in a respectful, responsible manner.

          “As the first and only brewery in Macon, Macon Beer Company is the perfect partner for Mercer's first beer garden and will be a great fit for football games and other fun occasions."

          Macon Beer Company is one of the vendors that has been set up at select Mercer baseball games the past few years.

          Mercer recently announced concert series for home games, but no acts have been announced.

          The Bears open the season on Aug. 31 at Western Carolina, and welcome Austin Peay to town on Sept. 14.
