Coaching carousel keeps on spinnin’

Macon wins again

          Macon scored three in the ninth to break a tie and win 5-2 over host Florence in Coastal Plain action.

          M.J. Rookard (MGSU) continued a ridiculous pace, with a 4-for-5 night – including a homer - and three RBI and two runs. Ben McConnell scored twice.

          Chance Harris fanned eight with a walk in the first 4.2 innings for Macon, but Chris Rolick got the win with a perfect ninth.

          Macon hosts Florence on Thursday and Savannah on Friday while having Saturday off.

 

Braves Report

          Josh Donaldson continued to baffle naysayers with another home run, joined by Freddie Freeman, as Atlanta took control with three in the sixth and added two in the eighth for a 7-2 win over the N.Y. Mets.

          Freeman and Austin Riley had two hits each, Freeman and Donaldson with two RBI apiece. Donaldson is on a nine-game hitting streak during which he has six homers.

          Max Fried went six innings with eight hits, one walk, and six strikeouts. Three relievers gave up only one hit in a non-save situation.
