Just about every part of the game was on point for Atlanta, with had more than three times as many hits en route to a 15-1 blowout of the Phillies to take the series and extend its lead in the NL East.
Mike Foltynewicz turned in a better-than-expected performance with one run and four hits in six innings, with six strikeouts and five walks. Relievers Josh Tomlin and Huascar Yona each gave up only a hit in the final three innings.
Ronald Acuna had four hits and four runs, and Josh Donaldson went 3 for 4 with another homer – his third in three games – and Ozzie Albies 3 for 5. Atlanta got two-RBI games from Acuna, Freddie Freeman, Donaldson, Nick Markakis, Albies, and Tyler Flowers.
It was the eighth time this season Atlanta cracked double digits in runs, en route to its biggest margin of victory, almost doubling the preview best of an eight-run win.
