Terrell 11, Brentwood 0; Terrell 7, Brentwood 4
Terrell put the first game away with nine runs after three innings, McKinley Newton managing two hits for Brentwood. Brentwood trailed 5-3 after five and couldn’t gain any more ground, despite four Terrell errors. Chase Everett and Denver Pingley had two hits each for Brentwood in the GISA AA series.
Westfield 1, Brookwood 0
The pitching was serious all seven innings, but Westfield got just enough of an opening in the sixth to win. Matt Huckabee was hit to lead off the inning. Courtesy runner Christian Corbett advanced on a walk, and then came in on Chase Spence’s single to left. Winning pitcher Bennett Wellman gave up a sixth inning walk and retired Brookwood in order in the seventh to advance the Hornets to the GISA Class AAA semifinals. He fanned eight with two walks and five hits.
