Interesting semifinal doubleheaders lead to Game 3s; Upson-Lee eyes championship
          First pitches are at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Tattnall and Bleckley County for their respective Game 3s after splitting on Tuesday.
          Upson-Lee needed every play and finally got it to beat Druid Hills and advance to the GHSA Class 4A boys soccer finals, on Friday or Saturday, at some time, at McEachern or Mercer. The semifinals ended Tuesday night, but the GHSA had yet to announce pairings and times except for Class A.

Middle Georgia State stays alive

          Middle Georgia State won two games Tuesday to stay alive in the Macon Bracket at Luther Williams Field of the NAIA national baseball tournament.
The Knights beat Huntingdon 11-2 in one elimination game and then British Columbia 8-0 in another one.

 

Braves Report

          Another poor starting pitching performance put the Braves in a big hole and the offense had no shovel to help dig out in Atlanta’s 14-3 loss to St. Louis.
