There’s a major adjustment playing soccer on the new, shiny turf at the Ed DeFore Sports Complex: get ready for strawberries and bruises if not prepared.
Renovations at Bowden Golf Course have slowed some growth for a local golf program. Tennis is a new sport at another school, and a few baseball and soccer teams are ready to make runs to the postseason.
Athletes and coaches from Bibb County’s public high schools gathered at the Hutchings College and Career Academy Wednesday night – some were in action and couldn’t make it – to talk about the spring sports season so far.
Granted, the spring season is at or past the halfway point, but teams were still making some adjustments from additions after the end of basketball, and it was still the season’s participants first media gathering.
