          The Bears stunned the top-ranked Trojans, opening up a slight cushion in the third quarter after taking a 29-28 halftime lead, holding on down the stretch. Austin Sloan scored eight of his team-high 12 points in the key third quarter for Houston County, which had six 3s, one more than Coffee. H.B Morgan added 11 for the Bears.

          The Greyhounds were outscored 20-6 in the third quarter, and that was the difference. Lu Woolfolk had 15 points, Ty Richardson 14.

          Heads were turning and eyebrows were raised after a quarter and Howard’s 13-11 lead. Zyrice Scott scored nine of his 22 points in the second quarter en route to a 28-20 halftime lead for the Knights, who then cruised to their fourth straight region title. Jarrett Adderton added 17 and Travon Walker 15. Leon Pitts had eight for Howard, which failed to crack the 30-point mark in the two regular-season meetings. Scott had nine assists and four steals, Adderton six boards and three blocks, and Walker got the double-double with 18 boards, chipping in three blocks.

          Jarden Maze topped the Golden Hawks with 16 points, while Jawan Dukes had 14 points and seven rebounds, Jamarius Dixon chipping in eight rebounds and four assists.
