Jones County 5, Houston County 4; nightcap cancelled

Mount de Sales 6, Washington County 3

            The Cavs improved to 7-2 with a five-run fifth. Micah Hattaway went 3-for-4 and Rossman Diaz added two hits and two RBI for MdS. Carson Hart had two hits for the Golden Hawks.

West Laurens 2, Bleckley County 1, 8 inn.

            E.J. Holmes singled, stole second, went to third on defensive indifference, and came in on Bradley Wilson’s fly to right.  Wilson then finished it off in the bottom half. Holmes had two hits for the Raiders. Wade Brantley, Tyler Franks, and Wilson teamed for 11 strikeouts, one walk, and one hit.

            Anna Lako and Maggie Davis scored two goals each, while Molly Lee, Karsten Herron, Jansyn Samples also hit the back of the net, Samples adding three assists with one each from Herron, Madelyn Davis, and Lily Peavy.

            The Knights’ season ended in the SSAC tournament in Montgomery, Ala.. Second-team all-conference pick Kianna Delas scored 18 points to pass 1,000 for her career.

            Mercer won its 33rd straight Southern Conference regular season game, and 100th for the senior class, including Mary Persons’ KeKe Calloway and Dodge County’s Rachel Selph.
