Rough night for Central Georgia basketball
          One possession was the difference for two area teams in their GHSA quarterfinal basketball game, while two others got in an early whole and stayed there.

Mercer football adds a CB coach
          Leon Wright has joined the Mercer football staff as the Bears’ new cornerbacks coach.

          Wright was a defensive backs analyst at LSU. The former All-ACC defensive back at Duke has coached at Princeton as well as his alma mater and multiple stints with LSU, albeit twice as a graduate assistant.

          The 2010 Duke grad signed a free-agent contract with the New York Giants also coached at Garden City Community College.
