Howard 6, Rutland 5
Rutland led 5-3 entering the bottom of the seventh, but gave it up on Collin Blackwell’s leadoff homer, two singles, a walk, and then with two runs coming on wild pitches/passed balls (depending on the scorer), the game-winner coming on a two-out dropped third strike. Trent Brown and Bradley Smith had two hits each for Howard, while Jonathan Harnist drove in two for Rutland. Chris Andrews fanned six with no walks in three innings of relief for Howard.

Lake Oconee 10, Putnam County 7

Mount de Sales 4, Central 3
          Two walks, an error and passed ball led to the tie run in the sixth, with a grounder and error bringing in the game-winner. Clay Murphy had two RBI for MdS, and Aubrey Evans drove in two for Central. The pitchers teamed for 16 strikeouts and 18 walks.

Perry 7, Crisp County 6
Starr’s Mill 6, Houston County 5
Strong Rock Christian 10, FPD 0
Strong Rock put it away with seven in third.

Upson-Lee 4, Griffin 0
          Chance Gamble had two hits and Turner Maddox scored twice for the Knights, who got all they needed with one in the first. Alex Blount had eight strikeouts and a walk in the complete-game win.

Tattnall 10, Greater Gwinnett Christian 0
          A five-run fifth put it away for Tattnall, the beneficiary of five errors and seven unearned runs. Leadoff hitter BJ Spears went 2-for-2 with four runs and four RBI, Miles Morris adding two hits and Brooks Gorman two RBI.

West Laurens 10, Veterans 0
          The visitors put seven up in the first, and took advantage of 10 walks to counter only five hits. Bradley Wilson had two hits for the Raiders, with EJ Holmes and Carson Estep with two RBI each. Wade Brantley and AJ Mathis teamed for a one-hitter, eight strikeouts and only one walk.
