Wednesday's Daily News n' Notes: Quintez Cephus story; Barking Lot grows for semi; Scoreboard; Braves delight with signing; SEC Championship; Mayhem, college BKB

Wednesday's Central Georgia - and of interest to Central Georgia - news and notes, compiled from staff reports, email reports, the web, and social media.

Family and faith kept Cephus going, and now?

Stratford alum Quintez Cephus has had a life-changing past couple years.

Charged with sexual assault in the spring of 2018, Cephus sat out that fall at Wisconsin. Finally acquitted late last summer on sexual assault charges, Cephus returned to Wisconsin’s football team, and is having quite a season.

But the road to this point has had enough lows to last a lifetime. With help, and football, Cephus is getting past it.

A thorough AP story is here.

The Barking Lot grows

Jones County’s football stadium got a little bigger Wednesday with the addition of bleachers in preparation for the biggest game in program history, Friday night’s GHSA Class 5A semifinal with visiting Buford.
