Friday's Central Georgia Scoreboard: high schools, Mayhem, Hawks

High school basketball and wrestling coaches should have received information-seeking packages from their ADs more than two weeks ago to fill out. Check with them or email centralgasports@gmail.com.

 

High school coaches should send box scores and/or game information to centralgasports@gmail.com within 30 minutes of completion for expanded coverage. The more info provided, the more info to give people.

          Jada Jackson had 10 points and the 7-7 Chargers got 10 rebounds each from Telecia Taylor and Neicole Johnson. Courtnie Stephens had four steals and nine points for Central.

Covenant 63, Twiggs 17

Dodge County 88, East Laurens 80

          Europe Brown and Destanee Wright were huge, with 32 and 29 points respectively. Shauna Coley added 18 for the Indians.

Harris County 45, Warner Robins

Jones County 56, Dutchtown 31

          Ty Richardson dropped 23 points and had four rebounds and three assists for the Greyhounds, 10 points in the second quarter after a  brutal 5-3 first quarter. It was tied at 24 at halftime, but Jones County outscored Dutchtown 32-7 in the second half.

          The Trojans improved to 13-2.

          Marquise Jackson drained a 3 at the horn to give the Greyhounds the region win. He had 17 points, including clutch threes down the stretch. Chuck Pitts added 17 points and Tre Dean 13 points, and Chavis Mathis 14 rebounds.

          The Demons blew things open in the final three quarters, including a 22-6 fourth. Quon Dillard topped the Demons with 22 points, while Trevon Williams and Shamar Rouse added 10 each. Warner Robins, now 10-4, hosts Northside at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Washington County 67, Southwest 41

Jay Sanders’ 13-point 10-rebound double-double helped the Golden Hawks improve to 10-4 and 4-0 and head coach Carlos Hope to his 300th win.

Veterans 65, Bainbridge 64

          Horace Johnson hit the game-winner for the Warhawks, who got 15 from Deangelo Hines and 12 from TJ Grant.
