Brookstone 37, FPD 14
Central 27, Northeast 2
The Raiders didn’t have an answer for QB Donald Lamb, who scored from more than 50 yards out early in the first quarter for all Central would need, then set up his own 2-yard scoring run with a long pass. Central’s defense got a scoop and score from Xavier Darden. It was the first win for Central first-year head coach, and alum, Joaquin Sample.
Colquitt County 41, Warner Robins 14
The Demons hurt themselves with early mistakes, like a bad punt snap and 5-yard punt and an interception en route to a 21-0 deficit, but they hung tough and trailed only 21-7 at the half. They were again within two touchdowns, but the top team in Class 7A didn’t let the Demons get any closer and eased away
Dodge County 28, Fitzgerald 9
The defense set up the offense for the Indians. A fourth-down stop set up a short Erin Pitts touchdown, as did a botched punt snap that was recovered by J.T. Ellis. Then the defense got into the scoring action when Rashan Mathis got on the board with a scoop and score en route to a 21-0 lead. The Indians improved to 4-0.

Mary Persons 35, Peach County 21
The Bulldogs answered a Trojan score two plays later on a 76-yard swing pass touchdown from J.T. Hartage to Quen Wilson, and took the lead when Hartage took of for a 56-yard touchdown run. They added to it on a scoop-and-score from Daniel Lavelle, who has missed some time with a injury, after a big hit from Kelvin Harden caused the fumble. The Trojans came up with a fourth-down stop with about five minutes left in the second quarter. The Trojans cut the margin in half in the third quarter, and then converted a third and long en route to a touchdown to get within 28-21 with 8:01 left in the game. Greene County made it tighter with a touchdown two minutes into the fourth, but the Cavs' defense held up the rest of the way. Greene County managed only 2.5 yards a carry, boosted by a 29-yard gain from quarterback C'Darius Kelly. Williams was huge again, with an 8-for-14 passing night for 192 yards and two scores, plus a pick, and 155 yards on 29 carries.

The Bears' special teams came up huge with a blocked punt by Wesley Steiner in the fourth quarter, and they converted it to a touchdown, a short play-action pass from Max Rigby to Isaiah Harris with 3:39 left in the game after dueling timeouts. But the conversion pass failed, and the Warhawks ran out the clock. Veterans improved to 5-0 with its first win over Houston County, now 2-3.
Washington County 47, Swainsboro 45
These two went a little crazy. The Golden Hawks led 21-20 at halftime, then 28-20 in the third. It was 28-26 after three, with both teams scoring 19 in the fourth quarter. The Tigers pulled within 28-26 with 3:13 left in the third quarter, but the Golden Hawks broke up the conversion pass to maintain a huge 2-point lead.
