Softball

Piedmont 4, Windsor 2; Piedmont 4, Windsor 2

          A four-run third was enough for Piedmont in the opener, led by Cassidy Cook’s two hits and four RBI. Lindsey Arrington went 2-for-3 for Windsor. Piedmont scored single runs in four innings in the nightcap, Maddie Morton and Madison Johnson with two hits each. Makalie King had two hits for the Knights in the GISA AA semifinal series.

Westfield 7, Trinity Christian 6; Westfield 4, Trinity Christian 3

          Ellie Williams went 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBI to lead Westfield in the opener, a walk-off with two runs in the bottom of the eighth. Sadie Hayes and Emma Williams had two hits each, and Marena Knowles drove in two runs. Westfield’s three-run fifth gave the Hornets the lead for good in the series-clinching nightcap in the GISA AAA semifinal on the road. Knowles went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI in the pitchers’ duel. Emma Williams fanned four with two walks and six hits.

          The Raiders win the finale of the 4A series to advance to Columbus.
