Appling County 8, Rutland 5

          A six-run second put Appling County in control, and a two-run six countered Rutland’s three-run third in the third game of their 3A series. Rutland outhit Appling County 10-8, but the Hurricanes stranded nine runners in their season-ender. Breasia Davis, Bailey Caldwell, Sadi Ratterree, and Kinleigh King each had two hits for Rutland, and Taylor Stewart drove in three runs. Caldwell and Stewart teamed for six strikeouts and a walk.
