Mayhem pick up a returnee and a newbie
Jimmy Soper and Corey Sherman have been signed by the Macon Mayhem.
Soper played in Macon for the final third of the 2017-18 season. Sherman will make his pro debut with the Mayhem.
Georgia State comes back to nip Kennesaw State
Dan Ellington completed a touchdown pass to Diondre Champaigne with 41 seconds left to lead Georgia State over Kennesaw State 24-20, and miss losing to an FCS team at home for the second straight year.
The Owls, in just their fourth season led, early and were still up 20-14 late in the third quarter.
Honor Roll
Mercer freshman Trevor Martineau scored five points over the weekend in his debut and is the season's first Southern Conference men's soccer player of the week.
Martinueau is the first freshman since Oct. 2016 to win the honor, helping Mercer to a 2-1 win over North Florida and a win over Jacksonville.
