Cephus charged with two sexual assaults, in court on Thursday
Former Stratford standout Quintez Cephus was charged Monday with second- and third-degree sexual assault, one involving an intoxicated victim, and he is to appear in court in Wisconsin Thursday morning.
He was suspended Monday afternoon. Full story and a link in The Latest Coverage.
Volleyball gets underway in Bibb County
A new sport for girls at Bibb County public high schools made its debut on Monday with all six schools in action, at Central and Southwest.
“We’re doing an in-county league,” Bibb County athletics director Barney Hester said recently. “Peach County is going to be part of it, because Peach County is starting, too. It’s not a region.”
Competition is starting in high school and middle school.
“We’re real excited about that,” Hester said. “I think it’s going to be fine, I really do. I know at Howard they had 45 girls wanting to play last spring.”
Central, Howard, and Northeast were joined by Peach County at Central, while Southwest welcomed Rutland and Westside.
Scores were unavailable Monday night.
