Ex-Jones County baseball standout Gore traded to the Cubs
Speedster Terrance Gore is now taking his quick feet elsewhere in the Midwest, having been sent from Kansas City to the Chicago Cubs, for cash.
Gore played in six postseason series as a pinch-runner, and had only 14 at-bats in the regular season. He is hitting .211 with 16 steals in Class AAA Omaha.
He Tweeted a “thank you” Wednesday morning: “Thank you @Royals for everything. from the Glass family FO my teammates and the fans. was one heck of a ride. going to miss you all tremendously.”
He’s expected to head to Class AAA and be called up in September when the rosters expand.
Despite not being a full-time major leaguer, Gore made an impact with the organization and the city, and there was clearly mutual appreciation.
