Wednesday's Braves/Ronald Report (final editions, quote-filled stories): First pitch hits Acuna, anarchy follows, Braves win; many observations/notes
Acuna plunked on first pitch, a mess follows, and Braves calm down and win
The game started, and WWE broke out after Ronald Acuna was hit on the left elbow on the first pitch of the first inning.
Jose Urena’s first pitch was 97.5 mph, his season high, and went where Acuna couldn’t escape. The game was interrupted for nearly 20 minutes and the field was full of players going around and around.
Urena and Atlanta manager Brian Snitker were ejected.
Urena, who is prone to the hit batter in general and uses the inside corner early and often, spoke to reporters for several minutes.
Acuna took himself out while in right field in the top of the second inning, and Atlanta calmed down and took a 5-2 win.
X-rays were negative, and results of a CT scan will be announced Thursday.
The Marlins led 1-0 after one and got another in the top of the fourth, but the Braves scored three in the bottom half and added two more in the sixth.
Charlie Culberson had three hits, Freddie Freeman two hits, and Dansby Swanson three RBI for Atlanta.
Kevin Gausman went six innings, giving up two runs, four hits, with two strikeouts and two walks. Jonny Venters, Brad Brach, and A.J. Minter finished with three scoreless and hitless innings.
To be updated with Acuna's status.

Acuña is 1-for-7 with a double, 2 walks and 3 strikeouts against tonight's Marlins starter José Ureña, who is 0-3 with a 6.75 ERA in 3 starts vs. Braves this season. Freeman is 2-for-8 with 2 homers and 4 walks off the righty./DOB
Fried (left groin) will make a rehab start for Gwinnett Friday. If all goes well, he could allow Atlanta to resume using a six-man rotation as early as next Tues./MB
For those wondering, the MLB record for consecutive games with a homer is eight, done three times -- Ken Griffey Jr. (1993), Dale Long (1956) and, coincidentally, Don Mattingly (1987). Matt Carpenter homered in six straight games earlier this season. #Braves' Acuna is at five./DOB

Urena, rather than challenge the hottest hitter in baseball, hit Acuña in the elbow with the first pitch of the game. Benches cleared, Inciarte was first on field from #Braves dugout and had to be restrained. Snitker had to be held back at one point./DOB
Acuña threw his shin guard on mound as he walked past it on way to first base. Words exchanged, Snitker came out and pointed several times while shouting at Urena. Benches cleared again. At one point, Eric Young Sr. shoved Brian Anderson. Snitker and Urena both been ejected./DOB
Won't see Snit anymore pissed off than a few minutes ago. Stupid move from a struggling pitcher on a last-place franchise./GB
Inciarte and others stood around chatting with Acuña on bench as he sat through this delay. Dansby had his helmet waiting for him at the top step after Acuña stood, clapped his hands and walked back on field. Re-starting now, it's 8:05 and one pitch has been thrown./DOB
Per MLB rules, because Acuna's only plate appearance resulted in him being hit by a pitch, his home run streaks will be intact when he returns to action./MB
Elias says Acuna's home-run streak remains active after the HBP and exit. Repeat: His streak remains active. I was wrong. Five-game homer streak./DOB
Kevin Gausman singles to left for his first career hit./GB
Swanson's go-ahead, two-run homer off Garcia was his third homer against LHP and first since May 26 (vs. Pomeranz). He entered tonight 9-for-57 vs. LHPs dating back to May 27./MB
