Friday's Central Georgia Daily News 'n Notes (final edition): Braves and Bacon, Billy Henderson remembered, more on Falcons/Jones, UGA has high LB hopes

Friday's Central Georgia - and of interest to Central Georgia - news and notes, compiled from staff reports, email reports, the web, and social media.

Coming Saturday: Chipper Jones is Hall-of-Fame bound, and we’ll have a comprehensive collection of the Jones Era, from decades ago to this week.

The Braves Report is up and updated (sorry).

Gastonia thumps Macon

Gastonia had all it needed before the third inning was done en route to a 10-4 win over Macon.

The Grizzlies scored three in the first and six in the third, knocking out Ben Brock and Trey Parr.

Colton Thomas and Conner Durden added two-hit nights to the 3-for-5 evening by Joe Satterfield for Gastonia.

Zach Weisz went 3-for-4 for Macon, which visits Florence on Saturday and hosts Lexington County on Monday.

Billy Henderson is gone, but …

The state legend is not forgotten.

Falcons-Jones talks weren’t all that frisky

Fans and some media pictured yelling and balled-up fists, no doubt.

Julio: all was well

UGA ready for Rice to shine at backer

He doesn’t have to be Roquan, II, but it’d be nice.
