This Week’s Signing

One of Central Georgia’s top boys basketball players of the past few seasons is staying in the state.

Dublin’s Kam Pauldo signed Friday with Columbus State, following up on his commitment in April.

Pauldo is the program’s all-time leading scorer, having passed 2,000 points as a junior and earning all sorts of postseason honors as a junior and senior, including state player of the year.

The 5-9 scorer and playmaker scored 2,789 points and kept the Irish in the Class AA state title hunt.

The Division II Peach Belt Conference is one of the toughest in the nation.

Columbus State went 9-17 last year, its first losing season since 2010-11, and breaking a streak of three straight 20-win seasons and NCAA Tournament trips.
