          The Bobcats scored an early touchdown, but Lander got back into it, although not enough, and Georgia College opened the Peach Belt tournament with a 9-6 win.

          All seven runs in the second came with two outs. Lander did touch up PBC pitcher of the year Charlie Hecht for six runs, but he's now 11-0 when he goes seven.

College Softball: Mercer loses in offensive battle

          Caroline Taylor became Mercer's all-time leader in homers, but Samford had more offense in a 10-6 win at the SoCon tournament.

          The Bears were eliminated and end the season at 33-19.

College Softball: Georgia College bumped from NCAA regional

          Lenoir-Rhyne got the lead in the second inning and kept it for a 10-2 win over Georgia College in the NCAA Southeast Regional.

          The loss ended No. 20 Georgia College's season at 36-15, while the 43-9 Bears continue.

McCarthy, offense struggle in Braves' loss

          Atlanta's eight-game road winning streak came to a loss amid some struggles from Brandon McCarthy, who lasted five innings in a 6-3 loss.

College Baseball: Mercer rolls past Alcorn State

          A six-run eighth followed four strong innings from Austin Cox as Mercer pulled past Alcorn State 10-3.

College Baseball: Top-ranked Florida tops Georgia in walk-off

          Georgia tied it, then took the lead in the top of the ninth, but Florida scored two in the bottom half for a crushing 7-6 win before 5,279 in Gainesville.

College Baseball: Virginia big inning too much for Georgia Tech

          Georgia Tech came back with four runs in the eighth, but Virginia's six-run fifth was too much in the Cavs' 8-6 win.
