Austin Perez went from fourth to first in the girls 3,200, winning by nearly 30 seconds.

Macon County's Nathan Oliver took home the medal in the Class A boys public discus, his mark of 152-2 topping last year's champ by nearly 18 feet, and by 21 feet that of former teammate K'Hari Lane, who was second in 2017.

Bleckley County's girls are atop the 2A standings, five points up on KIPP Atlanta and seven ahead of Monticello.
