Mercer, Holy Cross make the most of delayed series with wild doubleheader
Talk about a head-scratching doubleheader.
Mercer scored a school record 33 runs in Monday's first game and, naturally, won, by almost four touchdowns and PATs.
Mercer pitchers tied a program record by striking out 23 batters in the nightcap and, nat - oops, still lost, 7-3.

College Baseball: Georgia gives up 4 unearned in the bottom of the ninth, lose fourth straight
For eight innings, Georgia played solid baseball in all three phases, moreso on the mound and in the field.
Then came the ninth inning.
College of Charleston took advantage of three errors and two walks, but got a walk-off hit batter to beat visiting Georgia 5-4.
Honor Roll
Central Georgia Tech's Michael Laster, a sophomore from Manhattan, N.Y., the Georgia Collegiat Athletic Association Division I region player of the year.
Laster averaged 16.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 7.1 assists for the Titans, who host Albany Tech at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the GCAA tournament.
Teammate Anyeuri Castillo made the second team and all-freshman team, joined in the latter group by Jawaun Daniels. ...
