Crean makes high-energy impression in debut

          Tom Crean's first trip to Athens this century was Friday, when he was introduced as Georgia's new men's basketball head coach.

          He gave quite the introduction of himself and his philosophies.

College Baseball: Pair of 5-run innings lifts Mercer

            Six extra-base hits, three from Trey Truitt, powered Mercer to a 14-9 win over Eastern Kentucky.

            FPD grad Austin Cox improved to 4-0 for the Bears, now 14-5.

 

College Baseball: Hecht money as Georgia College wins squeaker

            Charlie Hecht went 7 innings, fanned five and gave up only 4 hits in Georgia College's 2-1 win over North Georgia.

            The 22nd-ranked Bobcats improved to 16-6 overall and 12-1 in Peach Belt play.

 

 

College Softball: Mercer splits on opening day of own tournament

            Austin Peay had the bats going against Mercer, but the Bears had the offense going in a win over Rutgers at the Mercer Bears Classic.

            It wasn't a day for pitchers in  Georgia College's 11-10 and 8-7 sweep of Georgia Southwestern.

 

College Baseball: Alabama and Georgia needed 13 innings

          Alabama survived four errors to nip Georgia 10-9 in 13 innings.

 

College Baseball: Georgia Tech ends four-game losing streak

          Sophomore Tristin English belted a grand slam and had three more hits to lead Georgia Tech past Virginia Tech 16-9.
