Who won Saturday? Roundup: Mercer's women with big win, good day for area/state baseball teams

 


    Their place in the Southern Conference tournament was set.
    But it was Senior Day for the Mercer women's basketball team, and there was still a statement to be made.
    Statement made and delivered.
    Seniors Shon Kitchens, Kahlia Lawrence, Sydni Means, Alex Williams, and Kayla Potts all started, notable for Kitchens and Potts in particular, having started one game each all season.
    The Bears trailed for less than a half-minute en route to a perfect Southern Conferene season and their 24th straight win.
    The seniors? Lawrene had 15 points, Means 13, Potts 8, Kitchens 4, and Williams led the Bears with 8 rebounds.
