No surprises so far as teenagers give their autographs to colleges on National Signing Day, Part I; with UGA, GT and Mercer lists
Updated: Dec. 22, 12:05 a.m.
The first early signing period got underway early Wednesday without quite as much fanfare as the normal signing day in the winter, except for the mini-productions from schools to post signings on Twitter.
Peach County’s ceremony is this afternoon, but they signings of Kearis Jackson with Georgia, JaQuez Jackson with Georgia Tech and Mitchell Fineran with Samford took place in the morning.
Fineran was Samford’s first signee of the day.
A notable signee for the morning session of signings was former Mary Persons linebacker Quen Head with Louisville after two seasons in junior college.
And Mercer added a local player, Southwest offensive lineman Isaiah Goolsby.
Taylor County running back Lyn-J Dixon, a Tennessee decommit, picked Clemson over Oklahoma State on Wednesday.
FPD’s Titus Moore has signed with Samford for track but will enter school with preferred walk-on status for football.
Through 4 p.m., there were no surprises for area high schools.
