Region 3-AA has been so much fun, three teams are going to go at it again.

          Washington County, Bleckley County and Southwest will determine the final two playoff spots from the region with a playoff.

          Festivities begin at 6 p.m. at West Laurens, and admission i $7.

          Washington County will play Southwest first, and the winner advances to the postseason while the loser plays Bleckley County in a winner-take-all game.

          The format is two five-minute halves, and normal overtime rules apply if tied. There will be a 30-minute break between games.

          The loser of the second game goes home.

          Determination of who is the third and fourth seed reverts to head-to-head results.

          All three are 3-3 in region play. Bleckley County is 6-4, Southwest is 5-4 and Washington County is 4-6.

          So, to recap:

          Oct. 6: Bleckley County 42, Washington County 28 - The Golden Hawks took a 14-6 lead, which perhaps could have been bigger, but the Royals quickly tied it. Washington County again took a one-touchdown leads, but the Royals tied and then took the lead for good and maintained it with clutch play on both sides.

          Oct 20: Washington County 34, Southwest 14 - The Golden Hawks offense got going with Preston Daniels at quarterback, and the defense got after Southwest quarterback Jordan Slocum hard.

          Nov. 3: Southwest 26, Bleckley County 21 - The game ended with the Royals having completed a pass inside the one and coming up short of clinching a spot in the playoffs.

          Bleckley County's Nykeem Farrow has taken the lead among Central Georgia rushers with more than 1,300 yards, and quarterback Zach Lassiter and receivers Torenio Davis and Bryce Bailey are among the top producers in the area in their respective areas.

          In scoring offense, the Golden Hawks are first with 293 points, 11 more than the Royals and 85 more than the Patriots, who in the middle of the three in scoring defense with 167 points, trailing the Royals' 165 points allowed and far ahead of the Golden Hawks' 305 points.

          Southwest and Washington County stats are unavailable.

         Putnam County, Social Circle and Monticello will have a Region 8 playoff Monday at Morgan County at 7 p.m.
